Why it costs what it costs
Every estimate is real work on real GPUs: servers we own in Australia, a fallback we pay for when they are unavailable, and Sydney storage for your photos and scans.
It is the lowest price that keeps the servers on and the people paid. There is no free tier: a free tier would be paid for by third-party advertising.

Questions people ask first
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account starts with 7 days free. Nothing is charged during the trial, and if you cancel inside it you pay nothing at all.
How do I cancel?
In the App Store: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Which currency are the prices in?
Australian dollars. The App Store converts to your own storefront and shows you that price before you confirm anything.
Is the yearly plan a different product?
No. It is the same app with the same features. Only the billing period is different.
What happens when my subscription ends?
The app still opens. Every meal you have logged stays readable, you can still log by hand, and you can delete your account. Only new AI estimates stop.
Can I subscribe on the website?
Not yet. Subscriptions are through the App Store for now.
Why is there no free version?
The AI costs money every time it runs. We would rather charge a fair price than pay for it with third-party advertising.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 16 or older to use kcalc.ai.
